Do you know if your current SSL certificate is valid for only 13 months?
Hello. Thanks for listening to SEO tips today.
Starting September 1, Safari will only accept HTTPs certificates that are valid for 13 months
There used to be lifelong security certificates, but Safari is no longer accepting them. You can use https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/ to check.
Oh – and make sure to keep it up on old domains even if you’re directing. Because if there is no valid certificate on the old domain then users will see a certificate warning instead of being redirected. That would not be ideal.
So check to see how long your certificate is good for and keep those old SSL certificates in place.
Thanks for listening. Come back tomorrow for another SEO tip.
