Did you know that Bing looks at the click-through rate when ranking videos and images?

Hello, thanks for listening to SEO tips today.

In Jason Barnard’s interview with Bing’s Meenaz Merchant – his official title is Principal Program Manager Lead, AI and Research of Bing but he’s head of all multimedia –  I discovered this gem, which is:

Increasing the click-through rate on video and image boxes will increase its ranking in the search engine results pages (SERP)s, and will increase your EAT (Expertise, Authority and Trust) signals.

Your takeaway?

Look at those elements provided in search that drive the clickthrough rate:

  • Is there a clear call to action?
  • Can you improve that through better labeling of those assets?
  • Can you make your authority more clear by ensuring relevant links to your YouTube channel?

Thanks for listening. Come back tomorrow for another SEO tip.
